A woman from Brandon, Manitoba claims that her identity was stolen on Facebook. Alex Marshall, 19, was notified by a man, whom she did not know, to let her know that her photos were bring used on an online dating service.

The man – had been viewing those photos and having an online relationship with the person claiming to be in those photos….that person’s identity is unknown.

The relationship went on for over a year – and the man who contacted Ms. Marshall somehow was made aware of the fraud.

“It was just so shocking to see they lied to him and hurt him using my pictures. It was the weirdest feeling,” Marshall said.
Marshall told CBC News she filed a police report but officers said there is nothing they can do.
Facebook representatives have also not responded to queries about this matter.
