REVIEW BY ELLEN DOBBS

*Spoiler Alert*
This is the sequel to
Need, the book reviewed above. This review includes some information that will spoil key parts of Need, so I suggest you don’t read this review unless you’ve read Need, or really don’t mind knowing the ending of it.

Zara and her friends think they’ve gotten rid of their pixie problem. Zara and Nick are still in love, but Zara’s worried for Issie and Devyn. Issie obviously loves Devyn, but he seems to like another girl, Cassidy. But soon Issie’s broken heart is the least of their problems. Though Zara’s biological father, the current pixie king, is trapped in the crude iron-covered house along with his pixie followers, more pixies are showing up. The friends have no idea what is going on until Zara encounters Astley. Astley is a new pixie king who claims he is different from Zara’s father; that he can control his needs. As the situation begins to go downhill, and when the people Zara loves most are in danger, can she trust Astley? Will she make the greatest sacrifice of all?

This continuation of Zara’s story is great! There are more characters, and even more excitement than the first. Zara’s life gets even more complicated and mixed into the pixie world. Astley is a great character to add to the mix as he brings the pixie’s role more into the story. This book is well written, with each chapter starting with a “Pixie Tip” or Zara’s opinionated definitions. The “Pixie Tips” are funny, and often take a hit at the pixie’s logic, appearance or way of life. I really liked this book and I can’t wait for the next in the series!
